Legal basis and responsibility boundaries

Technical inspection is not the same as commercial TDD.

Inspection answers reliability, stability and structural-condition questions within a defined programme. Transaction, building-services, CAPEX and commercial-risk review is a separate TDD. Opening-up, laboratory testing, geology and specialist calculations are included only when commissioned.

This includes professional work completed before and outside ALMECO assignments and is not presented as a portfolio of projects delivered by the company.

What should be agreed at the outset

When is inspection required, and when is TDD enough?

Use inspection for a formal reliability, stability, defect, alteration or structural-safety question. Use TDD for an acquisition decision and asset liabilities; TDD may recommend a separate inspection where evidence is insufficient.

What information is needed for an initial assessment?

A short asset and stage description, location, intended scope, available design and permit records, target dates and the main issue are usually enough. After review, ALMECO issues a focused list of missing inputs.

How are fee and duration determined?

They are confirmed after reviewing the inputs and asset responsibility category. Key drivers include disciplines and specialist team, scale and complexity, site visits, programme, document volume, number of parties and required control depth.

Can this service be appointed separately?

Yes. ALMECO may perform one function or include it in an agreed technical-customer, PMC or Owner’s Engineer model. Roles and potential conflicts are checked before appointment.
